  • 1.5 lb sirloin cap (picanha), ribeye, or New York strip steak Choose your preferred cut of steak.
  • 1 tsp salt For seasoning.
  • 0.5 tsp freshly ground black pepper For seasoning.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil For searing the steak.

Garlic Butter Sauce

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter For the garlic butter sauce.
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped Fresh garlic enhances the flavor.
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped For garnish and flavor.
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes (optional) Add for heat, if desired.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Let the steak sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • Pat the steak dry and season both sides with salt and black pepper.

Cooking

  • Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat. Add olive oil and sear the steak for 3–4 minutes per side.
  • In a separate pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Stir in parsley and red pepper flakes. Remove from heat.
  • Let the steak rest for 5–10 minutes after cooking.

Serving

  • Slice the steak against the grain. Spoon garlic butter over the slices and serve immediately.

Notes

Pairs beautifully with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad. Use a meat thermometer to ensure your steak is cooked to 130°F for medium-rare. Let the steak rest after cooking to keep it juicy. Feel free to adjust the amount of garlic and red pepper flakes to your taste.
