  • 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy) Use your preferred type of milk.
  • 1 shot espresso or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee Strong brewed coffee can be used if espresso is unavailable.
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla syrup Homemade vanilla syrup is recommended for best flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon Adjust amount to taste.
  • to taste whipped cream (optional) Optional topping.
  • 1 cinnamon stick (for garnish, optional) For garnish if desired.

Preparation

  • In a small saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until steaming, but do not boil.
  • While the milk is heating, brew the espresso or strong coffee.
  • In a large mug, combine the vanilla syrup and ground cinnamon.
  • Pour the brewed espresso or coffee into the mug and stir to combine with the vanilla and cinnamon.
  • Froth the heated milk using a milk frother or by whisking vigorously, then pour it over the coffee mixture.
  • Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon or a cinnamon stick if desired.

Notes

Serve in a large mug or clear glass to showcase the swirls of frothy milk and coffee. Pair with a sweet pastry or biscuit for a delightful snack. Store leftover components separately in the fridge for up to 2 days.
