Ingredients
  

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter Make sure to melt completely.
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs Add one at a time.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with whole wheat flour.
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, melt the butter and then stir in the sugar.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla.
  • In another bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Let cool before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. Best enjoyed with ice cream or fresh berries.
