Optional Sides

Instructions

Preparation of Steak

  • Season the steaks with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and fresh herbs if using.
  • Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Cook the steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  • Remove them from the skillet and let them rest.

Cooking the Shrimp

  • In the same skillet, add 1 tablespoon of butter.
  • Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds.
  • Then, add the shrimp, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Cook until the shrimp turns pink, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Stir in lemon juice before removing from heat.

Making the Creamy Garlic Sauce

  • In the same skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter.
  • Add 4 cloves of minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute.
  • Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a simmer.
  • Stir in Parmesan cheese, Dijon mustard, and season with salt and pepper.
  • Let it thicken slightly while stirring.

Assembly and Serving

  • Slice the steaks and plate them next to the shrimp.
  • Drizzle the creamy garlic sauce over the top.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, and garlic butter broccoli for a complete meal.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley for a pop of color.

Notes

Let the steaks rest after cooking to keep them juicy. Use fresh garlic for the best flavor in the sauce. Adjust spices to your preference; if you like a bit of heat, add some red pepper flakes to the sauce. Make sure the shrimp are cooked just until pink to avoid overcooking.
