Ingredients
  

  • 1 can (21 oz) strawberry pie filling
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1 package (8 oz) softened cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Fresh strawberries, for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Place strawberry pie filling in a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drop spoonfuls evenly over pie filling.
  • Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  • Pour melted butter over the cake mix to soak in slightly.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden and bubbly. Let cool slightly before serving.
  • Garnish with fresh strawberries just before serving.

Notes

Use reduced-sugar pie filling for less sweetness.
Vanilla or white cake mix works best for milder flavor.
Replace cream cheese with Neufchatel for lower fat alternative.
Adjust sugar quantity if using sweetened pie filling.
Fresh strawberries are optional but recommended for brightness.
