Ingredients
  

For the croquette mixture

  • 2 cups mashed potatoes Make sure to drain excess moisture.
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder Adjust according to taste for heat.
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For coating and frying

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • Oil for frying

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, ground beef, garlic, chili powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Shape the mixture into small balls or patties.
  • Dip each croquette into the beaten eggs, then roll in breadcrumbs until fully coated.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  • Fry the croquettes until golden brown on all sides.

Notes

These croquettes are best served hot and crispy, either plain or with a dipping sauce like spicy mayo, ketchup, or garlic sauce. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place in a hot oven for a few minutes. Uncooked croquettes can also be frozen before frying.
