  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Main Ingredients

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined to form a smooth batter.
  • Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray or butter.
  • Pour the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  • Arrange the sliced bananas on top of the batter.
  • In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon and nutmeg (if using) and sprinkle it evenly over the bananas.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers at room temperature for a day or refrigerate for up to 4 days. For longer storage, freeze in an airtight container for up to 2 months. Use ripe bananas for the best flavor, and avoid overmixing the batter for a fluffier texture.
