Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4-5 pounds beef brisket
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional) For an extra kick

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by seasoning the brisket generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper if using.
  • Place the seasoned brisket in the slow cooker.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the beef broth, barbecue sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour this mixture over the brisket in the slow cooker.
  • Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until the brisket is tender and can be easily shredded with a fork.
  • Once done, remove the brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Serving

  • Serve on sandwiches or with your favorite sides.

Notes

To store leftovers, let brisket cool to room temperature, then refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. For extra flavor, brown brisket in a skillet before cooking in the slow cooker. Add sliced onions or peppers to the cooker for variation.
