  • 2 pounds Yukon Gold or baby potatoes Choose for the best texture and flavor.
  • 1/2 cup butter Can substitute with olive oil.
  • 1 packet Lipton Onion Soup Mix Key ingredient for flavor.
  • 2 cups beef or chicken broth Use vegetable broth for vegetarian.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper Adjust to taste.

Preparation

  • Wash the potatoes thoroughly. If using Yukon Gold potatoes, leave the skin on for extra flavor.
  • Cut the potatoes into halves or quarters, depending on their size.
  • In the slow cooker, add the cut potatoes.
  • Melt the butter and pour it over the potatoes.
  • Sprinkle the Lipton Onion Soup Mix evenly on top.
  • Pour in the beef or chicken broth around the potatoes.
  • Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Cover the slow cooker and set it to low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  • Once the cooking time is up, check that the potatoes are tender and ready to serve.

Notes

For a richer flavor, add garlic or fresh herbs to the slow cooker. If you like a bit of sweetness, try adding sliced onions or carrots. Adjust the amount of butter or broth depending on how creamy you want the dish. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
