Brownie Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons red food coloring
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 Tablespoons Dutch process cocoa powder

Cheesecake Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1 large egg, at room temperature
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9-inch baking pan.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until combined.
  • Add in the eggs, red food coloring, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until smooth.
  • Sift in the flour and cocoa powder, then fold into the wet mixture until just combined.

Cheesecake Mixture

  • In another bowl, beat the cream cheese with the egg and sugar until smooth and creamy.

Assembly and Baking

  • Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, then dollop the cheesecake mixture on top.
  • Pour the remaining brownie batter over the cheesecake layer.
  • Swirl a knife through the layers to create a marbled effect.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  • Allow to cool before slicing into squares.

Notes
