Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Use softened butter for the best texture.
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar For the dough.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Rolling Mixture

  • 1/4 cup sugar For rolling.
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon For rolling.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Whisk together and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter and 1 1/2 cups sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until combined.

Rolling and Baking

  • In a small bowl, mix together the remaining 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon.
  • Roll the dough into small balls, then roll each ball in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  • Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden.
  • Let cool before serving.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. You can enjoy them alone or pair them with milk or hot chocolate. For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of nutmeg to the cinnamon sugar mixture. Store in an airtight container for up to a week, or freeze for longer storage.
