  • 1 Cup jasmine rice not instant
  • 1.5 Cups water
  • 1 Tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 can (8 ounce) crushed pineapple in juice don't drain
  • 0.5 Teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1.5 Tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 2 Tablespoons green onion (chopped)

Instructions
 

Cooking

  • In a medium saucepan, combine jasmine rice, water, butter, crushed pineapple, salt, and sugar. Stir until well combined.
  • Heat on medium high until boiling. Reduce heat to a simmer and cover. Cook for 15-20 minutes or until rice is cooked.
  • Remove the saucepan from heat and squeeze fresh lime juice over the top. Stir in with a fork to fluff up the rice.
  • Serve while hot and garnish with fresh chopped green onions.

Notes

Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar based on your preference. Fresh lime juice adds a nice tang, so don’t skip it! Serve with additional lime wedges on the side for extra zing.
