  • cups all-purpose flour
  • tsp active dry yeast
  • tsp salt
  • cups warm water Make sure it's warm, not hot.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic is recommended.
  • ¾ cup finely grated Parmesan cheese Add extra for sprinkling on top before baking, if desired.

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, yeast, and salt together.
  • Add the warm water and olive oil, stirring until a rough dough forms.
  • Mix in the minced garlic and grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Knead the dough for 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth.
  • Cover the dough and let it rise until it has doubled in size.

Baking

  • Shape the dough into a round loaf and let it rest briefly.
  • Bake the bread until golden brown.

Notes

Allow leftover bread to cool completely. Wrap it tightly in plastic wrap or aluminum foil. Keep at room temperature for up to three days, in the fridge for a week, or freeze for up to three months. Consider adding herbs like rosemary or thyme or experimenting with different cheeses.
