  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes Optional, for heat.
  • 3 cups beef broth Can use vegetable broth for a vegetarian version.
  • 2 cups milk Substitute with heavy cream for extra richness.
  • 12 oz pasta (penne, rotini, or fettuccine)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • to taste fresh parsley, chopped For garnish.

Cooking

  • In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
  • Stir in the garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes, if using.
  • Pour in the beef broth, milk, pasta, and Italian seasoning. Bring to a simmer and cook until the pasta is al dente.
  • Stir in the parmesan cheese and butter until melted. Garnish with parsley before serving.

Notes

For a complete meal, serve with a side salad or garlic bread. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat with a splash of milk or water to loosen the sauce.
