No Bake Black Forest Icebox Cake

Ingredients
  

For the Cake

  • 1 package chocolate wafer cookies
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 jar cherry pie filling (24 oz)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate shavings or grated chocolate

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  • In a 9x13 inch dish, layer a layer of chocolate wafer cookies at the bottom.
  • Spread a layer of whipped cream over the cookies.
  • Add a layer of cherry pie filling on top of the whipped cream.
  • Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, ending with whipped cream on top.
  • Top with chocolate shavings.
  • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.

Notes

Serve chilled and consider adding a dollop of whipped cream or cherries on top for decoration. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to a week.
