Ingredients
  

For the sardines

  • 4 pieces Sardines Fresh or thawed
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil For coating
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup Fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup Fresh oregano (chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs For topping

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Clean the sardines and pat them dry.
  • In a bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, chopped parsley, chopped oregano, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper.
  • Coat the sardines with the garlic and herb mixture.
  • Place the sardines on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and sprinkle breadcrumbs on top.

Cooking

  • Roast in the oven for about 15-20 minutes, until the sardines are cooked through and the breadcrumbs are golden brown.

Serving

  • Serve hot with extra lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

Make sure to clean the sardines properly to remove any bones and scales. Adjust the amount of garlic and herbs according to your taste preference. For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the herb mixture before coating the sardines. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 1-2 days.
