  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure the butter is really soft for easier mixing.
  • 1/2 cup cranberries, fresh or dried Chop fresh cranberries for better distribution.
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup Adjust to taste for sweetness.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Use less if using salted butter.

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, cranberries, maple syrup, and salt.
  • Mix until well combined and the cranberries are evenly distributed.
  • Transfer the mixture to a serving dish or wrap in plastic wrap to form a log.
  • Chill in the refrigerator until firm.
  • Serve spread over bread, muffins, or pancakes, or alongside roasted turkey.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. It can also be frozen; wrap well before freezing. Variations can include adding orange zest or cinnamon for a unique taste.
