Cooking

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, cream, butter, and salt. Stir until the mixture reaches a soft ball stage (about 234°F).
  • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then pour it onto a buttered surface.
  • Once cool enough to handle, pull the candy until it becomes smooth and glossy.
  • Form into desired shapes and allow to cool completely before serving.

Notes
