Ingredients

For the filling

  • 8 oz Cream Cheese (softened) Make sure it is softened for easier mixing.
  • 1 cup Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 1/2 cup Sliced Jalapenos (fresh or pickled) Adjust based on your spice preference.
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder Consider adding other spices or herbs for extra flavor.

For the pastry

  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry (thawed)
  • 1 large Egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, sliced jalapenos, and garlic powder. Mix well until all ingredients are fully blended.
  • Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut the pastry into strips, about 1 inch wide.
  • For each strip, place a spoonful of the cheese and jalapeno mixture at one end.
  • Roll the pastry strip over the filling, twisting it as you go to create a spiral shape.
  • Place the twists on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it over each twist to give them a golden color while baking.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm for the best flavor and texture. Great on their own or with ranch dressing or salsa for dipping. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge, good for about 3 days. Reheat at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
