  • 4 slices Bread Choose your favorite type
  • 2 oz Cheddar cheese Shredded or sliced
  • 2 oz Cream cheese Softened
  • 1 medium Jalapenos Sliced; adjust to taste
  • 2 tbsp Butter For spreading on bread

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
  • Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  • On the unbuttered side, spread cream cheese and layer cheddar cheese and sliced jalapenos.
  • Top with another slice of bread, buttered side up.

Cooking

  • Grill in the skillet for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Serving

  • Serve hot. Enjoy on its own or with tomato soup for a classic combination.

Notes

Use fresh jalapenos for a more vibrant flavor. To reduce spice, remove seeds from jalapenos. Experiment with other cheeses for different flavors. Cooking on low heat ensures even melting.
