Main Ingredients

  • 2 rolls Italian hoagie rolls Use fresh rolls for the best texture.
  • 4 slices Salami
  • 4 slices Capicola
  • 4 slices Provolone cheese
  • 1 cup Lettuce, shredded Iceberg or romaine work well.
  • 1 medium Tomato, sliced Use ripe tomatoes for best flavor.
  • 1/4 medium Red onion, sliced
  • 1/4 cup Pepperoncini, sliced Adjust to taste.

Dressing

  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Red wine vinegar
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust seasoning to personal preference.

Preparation

  • Slice the Italian hoagie rolls in half.
  • Layer slices of salami, capicola, and provolone cheese on the bottom half of the rolls.
  • Add shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes, red onions, and pepperoncini on top of the meats and cheese.

Dressing

  • Drizzle with olive oil and red wine vinegar, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Close the sandwich with the top half of the roll.

Serving

  • Slice in half if desired, and serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

Use fresh and quality ingredients for the best flavor. Feel free to add other toppings like olives or banana peppers. For a warm sandwich, toast the hoagie rolls before assembling.
