Ingredients
  

For the biscuits

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 cup cold butter, cubed Use cold butter for flakiness.
  • 0.75 cup milk

For the chicken

  • 1 pound chicken breasts, cut into tenders
  • 1 cup buttermilk For marinating the chicken.
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper Adjust based on desired heat.
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 0.5 cup hot honey (or honey mixed with hot sauce) For drizzling over chicken.
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  • In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Cut in the cold butter until the mixture looks like coarse crumbs.
  • Stir in the milk until just combined.
  • Form the dough into biscuits and place them on a baking sheet.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until they are golden brown.

Chicken Preparation

  • Marinate the chicken in buttermilk, paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne for at least 1 hour.

Cooking

  • Dredge the marinated chicken in breadcrumbs.
  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Fry the chicken tenders until they are golden brown and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes on each side.
  • Drizzle hot honey over the fried chicken.
  • Serve the chicken on warm biscuits and garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

Serve fresh out of the oven. Pairs well with coleslaw or pickles.
