  • 4 pieces Chicken Thighs or Breasts Boneless chicken works best
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 3 cloves Garlic (Minced) Fresh minced garlic preferred
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce Can substitute with tamari for gluten-free
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil

Optional Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon Ginger (Optional) Fresh minced or grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch (Optional) For thickening the sauce
  • to taste Salt and Pepper For seasoning
  • 2 stalks Green Onions (Optional) Chopped, for garnish

Preparation

  • Season the chicken with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the chicken until golden brown on both sides.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and ginger for the sauce.
  • Remove the chicken from the skillet and pour the sauce into the pan. Simmer until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Coat the chicken in the sauce and cook for an additional minute to blend the flavors.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.

Notes

Serve over steamed rice or noodles to soak up the sauce. Pair with stir-fried vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal. To prevent overcrowding the skillet, cook in batches if necessary. For a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with water and add to the sauce while simmering. Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
