  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped Any color of bell pepper works.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup tomatoes, diced Canned diced tomatoes can be used as a substitute.
  • 1/2 cup raisins Adjust quantity according to preference.
  • 1/4 cup olives, sliced Green or black olives can be used.
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • Flour tortillas Use soft tortillas for wrapping.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
  • Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic; sauté until softened.
  • Stir in the diced tomatoes, raisins, olives, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Simmer for about 15-20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  • Serve the Picadillo warm, wrapped in flour tortillas.

Notes

For serving, add toppings like shredded cheese, sour cream, or fresh cilantro. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days. To maintain tortilla softness, keep them sealed in a bag.
