  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry (thawed)
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened) Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature.
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for topping)

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick and cut it into four-inch squares.
  • In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Place one tablespoon of the filling in the center of each square, folding opposite corners to create a diamond shape.

Baking

  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and puffed.

Serving

  • Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
