  • 8 oz Dry Macaroni Whole Wheat or Chickpea can enhance protein content.

  • 1 tbsp Pepper
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Chili Flakes
  • 125 ml Reserved Pasta Water Helps create a silky sauce.

Preparation

  • Cook the macaroni in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions. Drain and reserve 125 ml of pasta water.
  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic, chopped onion, and bell peppers. Sauté until the vegetables are soft.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned and thoroughly cooked, breaking it up as it cooks.

Cooking

  • Reduce heat. Stir in the light cream cheese and shredded mozzarella until melted and creamy. Add salt, pepper, paprika, and chili flakes.
  • Combine the cooked macaroni with the creamy mixture. Add reserved pasta water gradually until desired consistency is reached. Mix well.
  • Top with light cheese slices and let them melt over the hot dish.

Notes

For added flavor, consider marinating the ground beef with spices before cooking. Experiment with different cheese blends for a unique taste. To add an extra vegetable boost, toss in some spinach or mushrooms.
