  • 4-5 pieces ripe avocados Use ripe avocados for best flavor and texture.
  • 1 medium tomato (seeds removed)
  • 1/2 small red onion
  • 1 large jalapeno Adjust for heat preference.
  • 1 Tbsp fresh minced cilantro
  • 1 lime Juice from 1 lime Can substitute with lemon juice.
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp chipotle chili powder Add more for extra kick.
  • Salt (to taste) Adjust according to preference.

Preparation

  • Start by cutting the avocado in half lengthwise.
  • Carefully twist the two halves to separate them.
  • Use a spoon to scoop out the flesh and place it in a bowl.
  • Discard the pit.

Making Guacamole

  • Mash the avocados in the bowl with a fork until you reach your desired consistency (chunky or smooth).
  • Dice the tomato, red onion, and jalapeno, then add them to the bowl.
  • Squeeze the lime juice over the mixture.
  • Stir in cilantro, cumin, chipotle chili powder, and salt to taste.
  • Mix everything until well combined.

Notes

Serve guacamole in a bowl with tortilla chips or sliced veggies for dipping. To prevent browning, cover with plastic wrap directly on the surface before refrigerating. Can be stored for up to 2 days.
