  • 4 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen) Frozen broccoli works perfectly; no need to thaw.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce Use tamari for a gluten-free version.
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • To taste Cooked rice or noodles for serving Serve over hot cooked rice or noodles.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef. Cook for about 7 minutes until fully browned.
  • Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger; cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add the broccoli florets and pour in the water. Cover with a lid and steam for 3-5 minutes until tender yet crisp.
  • Remove the lid, stir in soy sauce and sesame oil. Simmer for another 3-4 minutes to combine flavors.
  • Serve over cooked rice or noodles, garnished with sesame seeds or green onions if desired.

Notes

To store leftovers, let the dish cool completely. Place it in an airtight container and keep it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. If you want to store it longer, you can freeze it for up to 2 months. Just make sure to thaw it in the fridge overnight before reheating. For added flavor, sprinkle with sesame seeds or chopped green onions.
