Salad Ingredients

  • 2 large large cucumbers Use firm and fresh cucumbers for the best crunch.
  • 1 cup sour cream Can substitute yogurt for a lighter option.
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar Adjust to taste.
  • 1 tablespoon sugar Adjust to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Adjust based on preference.
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh dill Garnish with extra dill if desired.
  • 1/4 medium onion, thinly sliced

Preparation

  • Peel and slice the cucumbers thinly. If they are watery, sprinkle them with salt and let them sit for 30 minutes.
  • In a bowl, mix together the sour cream, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  • Add the cucumbers, dill, and onions to the dressing, and toss to coat.
  • Let the salad sit in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to meld the flavors.

Notes

Store any leftover salad in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 2 to 3 days. Keep in mind that the cucumbers may become softer over time.
