  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 2 tablespoons yogurt Can be substituted with milk or a dairy-free alternative.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

Garnish

  • Fresh cilantro, chopped For garnish.

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.
  • Add warm water and yogurt, and mix to form a dough.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 1 hour.
  • Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each into a flat circle.

Cooking

  • Preheat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Cook each naan for about 1-2 minutes on each side, until browned and cooked through.
  • Brush with olive oil and sprinkle with minced garlic and chopped cilantro before serving.

Notes

Garlic Naan is best served warm. Pair it with your favorite curry, stew, or soup. You can also enjoy it as a side with a simple salad. For added flavor, serve it alongside garlic butter or a yogurt dip.
