  • 1 cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 8 oz extra dark chocolate, chopped For melting with butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs Room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Sifted
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • Melt the butter and dark chocolate together in a saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently.
  • Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  • In a large bowl, mix the granulated sugar and brown sugar with the melted chocolate mixture until smooth.
  • Stir in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
  • Gently fold in the flour and sea salt until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Let the brownies cool in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

Fudgy brownies can be served warm or at room temperature. They pair beautifully with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream on top.
