Ingredients
  

Pasta and Cheese

  • 12 oz Lasagna noodles Use regular or no-boil noodles
  • 15 oz Ricotta cheese
  • 1 large Egg For mixing with the ricotta
  • 16 oz Mozzarella cheese Shredded
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese Grated for topping

Meat Sauce

  • 1 lb Ground beef or sausage Can substitute turkey for a lighter option
  • 24 oz Marinara sauce
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil For sautéing
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1 medium Onion Diced
  • 1 tsp Salt To taste
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper To taste
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning For flavor

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  • In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and minced garlic; sauté until softened.
  • Add ground beef or sausage, cook until browned, then drain excess fat. Stir in marinara sauce, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  • In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with egg, salt, and pepper.

Assembly

  • Spread a layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
  • Layer noodles, then ricotta mixture, then mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers, finishing with meat sauce and topping with mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.

Serving

  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

It's great on its own or with a fresh side salad and some garlic bread. Allow the lasagna to rest for a few minutes after baking to make it easier to cut and serve. For added flavor, sprinkle some extra parmesan on top before serving.
