For the cake

  • 1 box box of vanilla cake mix
  • 3 cups water For preparing the cake mix

For the jello

  • 1 package package of colorful jello (various flavors)

Toppings

  • 1 cup whipped topping
  • Sprinkles or colorful toppings (optional) Add for decoration

Preparation

  • Prepare the vanilla cake mix according to the package instructions and bake in a 9×13 inch pan.
  • Once the cake is done and slightly cooled, use a fork to poke holes all over the cake.
  • In separate bowls, prepare the colorful jello according to package directions.
  • Carefully pour the jello over the cake, allowing it to seep into the holes.
  • Refrigerate the cake for a few hours or until fully set.
  • Top the cake with whipped topping and colorful sprinkles before serving.

Notes

Make sure to let the cake cool completely before poking holes in it to prevent excess jello from dripping off the sides. Mix several flavors of jello for a rainbow effect. For a firmer texture, let the cake set in the fridge longer after pouring the jello.
