  • 1 cup unsalted butter Melt completely for smooth batter.
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs Use room temperature for best results.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Use high-quality cocoa for better flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Omit if using salted butter.
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, melt the butter. Stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Allow to cool before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

Serve brownies on their own or with ice cream. Dust with powdered sugar for extra touch. To store, keep in airtight container for up to 4 days or freeze for up to three months.
