Ingredients

For the Chicken

  • 2 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil, divided
  • 1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated

For the Filling

  • 2 cups coleslaw mix (cabbage and carrots)
  • 2 pieces green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp honey

For the Wrappers

  • 12 pieces wonton wrappers
  • 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp chopped cilantro

Instructions

Marination

  • Marinate the chicken with teriyaki sauce, 1/2 tbsp sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger for 10 minutes.

Cooking

  • Cook the marinated chicken in a skillet over medium heat until done, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Lightly fry the wonton wrappers in oil for 20-30 seconds per side until crispy.

Assembly

  • In a bowl, toss together the coleslaw mix, green onions, rice vinegar, honey, and the remaining sesame oil.
  • Fill each crispy wonton with chicken and coleslaw, then drizzle with sweet chili sauce.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped cilantro.

Notes

Serve warm on a platter for guests or individually. Add extra sweet chili sauce on the side for dipping. For best results, do not overcrowd the pan when frying wontons. Leftovers: Store the filling and wonton wrappers separately for up to 3 days in an airtight container in the fridge.
