Ingredients

  • 4 boneless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (substitute with gluten-free flour blend if needed)
  • 2 large eggs, beaten (use aquafaba for egg-free option)
  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup vegetable oil (canola or sunflower for high smoke point)
  • 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper (freshly cracked; optional)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (or 1 small garlic clove, minced)
  • 4 cups chopped romaine lettuce (add iceberg for extra crunch)
  • ½ cup Caesar dressing (homemade or store-bought; use dairy-free variant if required)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (vegan Parmesan if non-dairy)

Instructions

  • Pound chicken breasts to ½ inch thickness and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Set up a dredge station with flour, beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs.
  • Coat each chicken breast in flour, dip in egg, then press into panko until fully covered.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a pan to 350°F. Fry chicken until golden and cooked through (about 3-4 minutes per side).
  • Toast brioche buns until crisp.
  • Layer romaine, Caesar dressing, and Parmesan on each bun, then top with fried chicken to serve.

Notes

For best results, use a mandatory flour-egg-panko sequence for coating.
If making homemade Caesar dressing, omit traditional anchovies or substitute with halal-approved protein sources.
Chicken breasts may be baked at 375°F for 25-30 minutes as an alternative to frying.
