  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt To taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper To taste.
  • Vegetable oil, for frying Use sufficient oil to fry the chicken.

For the Caesar Dressing

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

For the Sandwich

  • 4 slices crusty bread (like ciabatta or sourdough)
  • 2 cups romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1/4 cup additional grated Parmesan cheese
  • Optional: sliced tomatoes and crispy bacon Customize to your preference.

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken

  • In a bowl, marinate the chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.

Prepare the Flour Mixture

  • In a separate bowl, mix the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

Dredge the Chicken

  • Dredge the marinated chicken in the flour mixture, ensuring it’s well-coated.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
  • Fry the chicken until crispy and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side.
  • Once cooked, place the chicken on a paper towel to drain excess oil.

Make the Caesar Dressing

  • In another bowl, combine mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Toast the Bread

  • Toast the crusty bread slices until crunchy.

Assemble the Sandwich

  • Spread a generous amount of Caesar dressing on each slice of bread.
  • Top with a crispy chicken piece, chopped romaine lettuce, additional Parmesan cheese, and optional sliced tomatoes and bacon.
  • Assemble the sandwich and serve it warm.

Notes

For an extra crispy coating, double-dip the chicken in the buttermilk and flour mixture. Use fresh, high-quality ingredients for the best flavor. Letting the fried chicken rest on a paper towel helps maintain its crispiness. You can make the Caesar dressing ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to a week. Customize your sandwich with grilled chicken or additional toppings.
