Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 loaf crusty Italian bread
  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • 1 pound fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • Red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Slice the Italian bread in half lengthwise and hollow out the insides to create a bread bowl.
  • In a skillet, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant.
  • Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink and opaque.
  • In a bowl, mix the cooked shrimp, cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, parsley, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  • Stuff the shrimp mixture into the hollowed-out bread halves.
  • Place the stuffed bread on a baking sheet and brush the tops with melted butter.

Cooking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the bread is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, then slice and serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a splash of lemon juice to the shrimp mixture. If you like more spice, increase the amount of red pepper flakes. Make sure not to overcook the shrimp; they should only be cooked until they turn pink to keep them juicy. If you can’t find crusty Italian bread, French bread works well too! Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
