Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.25 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 0.25 cup sour cream
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until it becomes light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in the sour cream, milk, lemon juice, lemon zest, and vanilla extract until everything is well combined.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

Baking

  • Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.

Glazing

  • For the glaze, mix the powdered sugar with lemon juice and pour it over the cooled loaf.

Notes

Make sure your butter is softened for easier mixing. Don't overmix your batter to keep the loaf fluffy. Use fresh lemon juice and zest for the best flavor. Check your loaf a few minutes before the suggested baking time to prevent overbaking.
