Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour (heat-treated)
  • 0.5 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  • Cream butter and sugar until smooth in a stand mixer.
  • Mix in milk and vanilla extract.
  • Fold in flour, salt, and mini chocolate chips to form the dough.
  • Scoop small balls of dough, flatten into patties, and refrigerate on a wax-paper-lined plate.
  • Preheat oven to 350F and grease three 8-inch cake pans.
  • Whisk dry ingredients together in a bowl.
  • Cream additional butter and sugar until fluffy.
  • Alternate adding the flour mixture and milk to the butter, starting and ending with flour.
  • Fold in chocolate chips and divide batter into prepared pans.
  • Press chilled cookie dough patties into the center of each pan and cover with remaining batter.
  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.

Notes

Ensure the flour is heat-treated to safely consume the dough bits. You can substitute Greek yogurt with sour cream. Keep the cookie dough patties well-chilled to prevent them from dissolving into the batter during the bake.
