Ingredients
  

Butter Mixture

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Start with softened butter for easy mixing.
  • 1/4 cup fresh herbs (such as parsley, chives, or thyme) Use fresh herbs for best flavor; dried herbs can be used if necessary.
  • 1-2 cloves garlic, minced Adjust garlic amount based on preference.
  • 1 zest of 1 lemon
  • Salt and pepper to taste Adjust according to taste.

Mixing Ingredients

  • In a bowl, combine the softened butter with herbs, garlic, lemon zest, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix until well blended.

Shaping Compound Butter

  • Place the mixture onto a sheet of wax paper and shape it into a log.
  • Roll up the wax paper tightly and refrigerate until firm.

Notes

Store compound butter wrapped tightly in wax paper in the refrigerator. It can also be kept in an airtight container or frozen for longer storage.
