Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Coating

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar for coating
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon for coating

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla.
  • Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just mixed.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  • In a small bowl, mix 1/2 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon, then sprinkle this mixture over the top of the batter.
  • Bake for about 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the bread to cool slightly before slicing and serving warm.

Notes

Best enjoyed warm. Can be served plain or with butter, coffee, or tea. For a fun twist, serve with ice cream or caramel sauce. Store in an airtight container for 2-3 days, or refrigerate to keep longer. Freeze by slicing, wrapping each piece in plastic wrap, and placing them in a freezer-safe bag.
