Ingredients

Waffle Batter Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 whole egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 can cinnamon roll dough

Maple Cream Cheese Glaze Ingredients

  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your waffle maker.
  • In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  • Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed. Do not overmix.
  • Open the cinnamon roll dough and cut it into quarters.

Cooking

  • Pour some batter into the preheated waffle maker, place pieces of cinnamon roll dough on top, and then add more batter on top of that.
  • Close the waffle maker and cook until golden brown, about 4-6 minutes.

Making the Glaze

  • For the glaze, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and maple syrup until smooth.

Serving

  • Serve the waffles drizzled with the glaze.

Notes

These waffles are perfect for breakfast or brunch. Serve them warm directly from the waffle maker and drizzle with the creamy maple glaze. You can also add fresh fruit, nuts, or whipped cream on top for extra flair. If you have leftovers, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in a toaster or microwave. The glaze can be stored separately for about a week.
