Ingredients
  

For the batter

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Spoon and level for best texture.
  • 1 cup sugar Can substitute with brown sugar for richer flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  • In another bowl, whisk together melted butter, egg, milk, and vanilla extract.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  • Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking dish.

Baking

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let cool for a few minutes.

Glazing

  • For the glaze, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Drizzle the glaze over the bars before serving.

Notes

Store leftover bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Refrigerate for up to a week, or freeze for up to 3 months.
