Ingredients
  

Oatmeal Bar Base

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted Can be substituted with melted coconut oil or vegan butter.
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour Use gluten-free flour for a gluten-free version.
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Fudge Layer

  • 1 cup chocolate fudge sauce Feel free to use different flavors of fudge sauce.
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
  • In a bowl, mix together the rolled oats, brown sugar, melted butter, flour, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  • Press half of this mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  • Spread the chocolate fudge sauce over the oatmeal layer.
  • Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the fudge layer.
  • Crumble the remaining oatmeal mixture over the top.

Baking

  • Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Let cool before cutting into bars and serving.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. Excellent with a glass of milk or coffee. Add a scoop of ice cream for an extra treat. Store in an airtight container for up to a week at room temperature, up to two weeks in the fridge, or up to three months in the freezer.
