  • 1 piece frozen ripe banana (peel removed prior to freezing)
  • 1 cup frozen cherries
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa or cacao powder Substitutes can include carob powder.
  • 1/2 cup non-dairy milk (such as almond or coconut) Add more for a thinner consistency.

Preparation

  • Add all the ingredients to a high-speed blender.
  • Blend until smooth. Adjust the consistency by adding more non-dairy milk if needed.
  • Transfer the smoothie to a bowl.
  • Top with fresh fruit, granola, nuts, and/or seeds as desired.

Notes

Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 24 hours in the refrigerator.
