  • 2 cups Chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons Butter For sautéing
  • 1/4 cup Flour For thickening gravy
  • 1 medium Onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • optional Herbs (like thyme or rosemary) For enhanced flavor

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Add chopped onions and minced garlic; sauté until translucent.
  • Add chicken to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned on both sides.
  • Remove chicken and set aside.

Making the Gravy

  • In the same skillet, whisk in flour to create a roux, cooking for 1-2 minutes.
  • Gradually add chicken broth, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
  • Return chicken to the skillet, reduce heat, and simmer until chicken is cooked through and gravy thickens.

Serving

  • Serve warm with potatoes, rice, or vegetables.

Notes

This dish is best served warm. If you have leftovers, let them cool completely and store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. You can freeze for up to 3 months.
