Ingredients
  

Pastry and filling

  • 1 sheet sheet of puff pastry Ensure it's cold before use.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella) You can mix different cheese varieties.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Adjust to taste.
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened Use herb-infused for extra flavor.
  • 1 egg for egg wash Beaten for brushing.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Enhance the flavors of the filling.
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped Optional, for garnish.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheese, minced garlic, and cream cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut it into squares.
  • Place a spoonful of the cheese mixture in the center of each square.
  • Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to form a cruffin shape.
  • Place the cruffins in a greased muffin tin.
  • Beat the egg and brush it over the tops of the cruffins.

Baking

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm, best enjoyed fresh but can be served at room temperature. Store leftovers in an airtight container for a few days, refrigerate for longer storage. Reheat in the oven for crispiness.
