Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces eggs
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1.5 teaspoons Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon onion powder heaping
  • 1 teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning
  • 0.75 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon red chili flakes or to taste
  • 0.67 cup chicken bone broth or vegetable broth, low sodium
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Kosher salt optional
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

Preparation

  • Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover them with water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then cook for 9-12 minutes, depending on your desired level of doneness.
  • Once cooked, transfer the eggs to an ice bath to cool for 5 minutes. Peel the eggs and set aside.

Cooking

  • In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat and add the minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Stir in the Old Bay seasoning, sugar, onion powder, lemon pepper, paprika, and red chili flakes. Mix well until combined.
  • Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth and lemon juice, and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • Add the boiled eggs to the skillet and gently coat them with the Cajun sauce. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Season with Kosher salt if desired and remove from heat.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Cajun Boiled Eggs are best served warm or at room temperature. You can enjoy them as a snack, appetizer, or part of a brunch spread. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, keeping them in the sauce to retain their flavor. Reheat in a skillet over low heat when ready to enjoy.
