  • 2 large large, firm pears Choose Bosc or Anjou for best texture.
  • 2 tsp unsalted butter Dot each half with a tiny bit.
  • 3 tbsp quality balsamic vinegar
  • 4 tsp liquid honey Add more if desired for sweetness.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cut the pears in half and remove the cores.
  • Place the pear halves in a baking dish, cut side up.
  • Dot each half with a tiny bit of unsalted butter.
  • Drizzle the balsamic vinegar and liquid honey over the pears.

Cooking

  • Bake in the oven for about 25-30 minutes or until the pears are soft and golden.
  • Let them cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

These pears can be served warm or at room temperature, solo or with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. A sprinkle of chopped nuts or a dash of cinnamon can enhance the presentation. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3 days.
